Presentation on use of Cannabidiol after Shoulder Arthroscopy
Dr. Alaia recently presented his work on Cannabidiol after shoulder arthroscopy at the 2022 American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery Annual Meeting, as well as the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine Annual Meeting. In this placebo controlled, randomized, double blinded study, Dr. Alaia and his colleagues found that cannabidiol (CBD) can positively influence post-operative pain and patient satisfaction after arthroscopic rotator cuff repair. Additionally, his paper has just been published in the American Journal of Sports Medicine and his team is currently working on a similar study looking at chronic pain from osteoarthritis.
